Breeze eSIM is a leading provider of digital SIM card solutions for travelers worldwide. Its virtual SIM cards connect travelers to mobile networks in over 190 countries — no swapping physical SIMs or visiting local stores.

As part of eSIM Go, which powers 40% of the global eSIM market, Breeze offers cost-effective, reliable coverage. Their most popular destinations include the U.S., Canada, Morocco, Europe, and Turkey.

Breeze had a great product and a solid foundation, but they faced one big challenge: reaching their audience at scale.

What challenge did Breeze eSIM face reaching travelers?

Breeze’s customers — frequent travelers, digital nomads, and busy professionals — had diverse, flexible needs for using eSIM across multiple countries. Each market had its own behaviors and preferences.

That made it hard for Breeze to connect with them through a single approach. The brand needed to target specific segments on the platforms they use regularly — travel blogs, comparison sites, and social media.

Affiliate marketing was the answer. By partnering with local affiliates, travel bloggers, and comparison sites, Breeze could reach travelers across many regions and they turned to UpPromote to manage the program.

Why did Breeze eSIM choose UpPromote over AWIN?

When Breeze began exploring affiliate platforms, they worked with both UpPromote and AWIN. It quickly became clear that UpPromote offered a more seamless experience for the team.

There are definitely more pros than cons when comparing UpPromote to Awin, especially in terms of usability and interface. We probably get fewer partner questions when it comes to using UpPromote versus Awin.

AWIN didn’t integrate well with Shopify, creating friction in day-to-day operations.

UpPromote does a better job when it comes to UX — making the tool more seamless to use and better integrated with Shopify, especially with things like refunds and pushing all the tags and stuff.

Beyond onboarding and setup, UpPromote helped Breeze sync affiliate data to their CRM and generate product links for specific country-based eSIM plans, making targeted offers easier to promote.

How does Breeze eSIM structure and grow its affiliate program?

Breeze built their program around understanding their partners, rewarding the best of them, and expanding the network through recruitment.

Learning about affiliates from the signup form

With UpPromote, Breeze developed a fully branded registration form reflecting their professional identity. Beyond benefits, commission rates, and terms, it added tailored questions.

Applicants provide personal and business details such as preferred payment method, marketing channels, affiliate type, and how they plan to promote the brand.

That approach reflects Breeze’s focus on partnering with affiliates who naturally engage travelers, such as airlines, airports, and travel companies. The brand recently built a partnership with Booking.com.

With Booking.com, we’re working with their flights division, but we’re also collaborating with their car hire division. It could be hotel chains, flight operators, airports, or even people with popular travel blogs or YouTube channels.

That mix of partner types gives Breeze reach across the entire travel journey.

Higher commissions for high performers

Breeze rewards strong affiliates with higher commissions. While the usual rate is up to 20%, exceptional performance earns customized rates.

Through UpPromote’s analytics, Breeze identified a standout affiliate — an eSIM comparison site — that had generated over 7,000 referrals. The team used the product-specific commission feature to adjust his rates by country.

As a general rule for Eastern Libya, he gets a 10% commission and a 10% discount code. But for certain countries, he might receive a 10% discount code and a 20% commission.

That flexibility lets Breeze steer effort toward the regions it most wants to grow.

Expanding the network through MLM

With Multi-Level Marketing, Breeze lets current affiliates recruit new members. Every time an affiliate brings in a sub-affiliate, they earn a commission from that sub-affiliate’s sales.

Breeze applies network commissions across programs, with rates from 5% to 20%. For top performers, they  introduced a special program with an exclusive rate of up to 33.33%.

In their  Bristol Airport program, for example, affiliates earn 5% of the sales generated by their sub-affiliates, naturally motivating them to grow their downline.

How does Breeze eSIM support and pay their affiliates?

Beyond commissions, Breeze equips affiliates to promote easily and makes sure they’re paid without delay.

The brand tracks referred sales through both affiliate links and coupon codes, ensuring accurate attribution either way. They manage coupons carefully, granting codes only to trusted, suitable affiliates.

To make promotion easy, Breeze provides marketing materials, including high-quality images, banners, logos, and content for specific product collections. So affiliates can start promoting right away.

On payments, UpPromote’s auto-payout via PayPal lets Breeze set payout schedules and dates, processing commissions automatically. The brand can also reward affiliates with store credits, redeemable for products rather than withdrawn as cash.

That reliability removes one of the biggest concerns affiliates have: getting paid on time.

What results has Breeze eSIM achieved with affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing has become a significant contributor to Breeze eSIM’s success, accounting for up to 30% of total transactions.

That reflects how effectively the brand uses affiliates to promote their eSIM services and reach a broader audience.

Looking ahead, with the eSIM market projected to grow sharply, Breeze plans to keep affiliate marketing as one of their core strategies for sales and brand visibility.
